My work as a director & writer are an essential part of my creative practise.

I began directing in 2011 with a community production of Trial by Jury for Opera Minima in Leicestershire & have directed operas for young people to perform for W11 Opera & Jubilee Opera & operas for young people to watch for English Touring Opera & Ignite Music.

I have experience of maintaining a tour as Staff Director for ETO which included giving pre-show talks & operating surtitles for their three mainstage productions.  I have revived as well as created my own productions including the professional premier of Malcolm Arnold's The Dancing Master at Buxton International Festival.  I've also directed productions & scenes for summer schools &  Streetwise Opera.

Productions I written or adapted have included one woman plays, mini opera productions, main stage scripts & reductions as well as films created online for companies such as: W11 Opera, Last Word Productions, Opera Minima, The Merry Opera Company & Norwich High School for Girls.
