(Director - Professional World Premier)
“Moore has a grand time nailing her postwar thespian types: Graeme Broadbent is the ripe old stager in bow tie and waistcoat, Eleanor Dennis is the pert ingénue; and David Webb, all flannel slacks and brilliantine, plays a Dirk Bogarde-like matinée idol. Mark Wilde — as a spivvy, moustachioed comedian playing a Frenchman (or as Wycherley puts it, ‘a whimsical, gibbering snail-eater’) with all the ’Allo’ Allo! subtlety of old-school rep — comes close to bringing the house down”

When the grand but decaying Marley Hall and all of its contents are put up for auction, the Hart family jump at the chance to own it! But why has no one inherited this old family home and why is it going so cheap? The five Hart children are about to discover that the Hall holds many secrets about the once wealthy and successful Marley family, and its last owner, Max. Marley Hall was the centre of high society, a whirl of parties, ruthless business and family life. As the family move into their new home, they start to unravel the hidden mysteries of the Marleys and, along the way, discover more about themselves, each other, and about living with the consequences of your decisions. Will the Hart family be happy in their new home? What are the secrets the Marleys have kept hidden all these years? How did an heir to such a vast fortune end up so alone? It’s Your Move...

We’ll Meet Again, a compilation of several HMDT Music commissions was planned as a commemoration of the 75th anniversary of VE Day. We began rehearsals in January and had covered all the repertoire and begun staging when lockdown began.
On the 14th March, knowing that changes were looming, we took the precaution of filming all the sessions ensuring we had covered all the numbers performed by each individual group. Not every student was able to attend and the ones that were there had no idea their run-throughs would become part of the show. Filming was informal on phones, sometimes alongside conducting, directing, choreographing with the other hand!
The wealth of material already covered and the commitment of our students meant we were able to continue the project online, with them submitting drawings, designs, monologues they themselves wrote, as well as recordings of them singing to our pre-recorded versions; no mean feat without a conductor, other singers and on material that had only just been learnt

and writers Stephen Plaice, Alasdair Middleton and Tertia Sefton-Green

The Producer is auditioning the characters from all of the previous thirty-eight W11 Opera commissioned shows to choose an overall winner: the best W11 Opera of all time! The competition heats up when Helen of Troy (Ulysses & the Wooden Horse), accompanied by her admiring suitors, arrives and wows the crowd. The, still geeky, Gerald (Shadowtracks) is spellbound by Helen’s beauty (which is not appreciated by his jealous girlfriend Sophie, her friend Tracy or his lovelorn best friend Nigel). While trouble brews for the unhappy couple, the evil Queen and her partner-in-crime the Archbishop (Eliza & the Swans) plot to win the competition by any means necessary. The Producer’s long-suffering Assistant harbours a secret ambition to perform – will she ever summon up the courage to command the stage?
Will the Queen’s evil plan succeed? Can Gerald salvage his relationship with Sophie And what is the best ever W11 Opera production?

Every night, when Waterloo station is closed, the Necropolis Line train pulls in, carrying the spirits of the long dead who were transported to Brookwood cemetery by the now defunct funeral train service. The famous four faced clock has watched over these proceedings since it’s installation in the early 1920s without a hitch until tonight… the ghost train has broken down, stranding the spirits at the station to, once more, pass a day amongst the living!

Liberty has a price.
And someone paid that price for you.
These days we tend to take for granted those rights which were earned the hard way through struggle and sacrifice. The Price brings politics alive and makes it personal, by taking us back in time to witness the story of the Suffragettes, the Pankhurst family and the events which led up to Derby Day 1913. In a year where politics has taken centre stage, The Price is entertaining, relevant and fun for the whole family.
